My Dutch Word for Wednesday

Borduursel

It means embroidery.

When we were in Holland or rather- The Netherlands in 2007 I had to have a photo of this vest that was hanging in the window of a local gift shop. On that special day, I somehow thought that I would have time to replicate an original traditional Dutch vest just like this one.

And here I am, in the fall of 2009, still looking for time to create such a masterpiece. I love this handwork and I love the colors. It is such a cheerful work of art. We were visiting the small tourist/fishing village of Marken. It was such a beautiful spring day.

Yep. I agree. Nice new look, title, etc. And I can think of a great place you can come to find time to work on your vest. Wait. Nevermind. There won't be time if you come here. I'll be occupying all of it. Sorry.

Yes this vest is so pretty! I so wish I could go to Holland and visit everything you guys did. I just have been coveting all of Terrie's pictures and her blog posts about her visit there. It just makes me sad to think I passed up that opportunity. We were sooo poor even if Mom would have paid for my trip. You look so beautiful in that pic with Hans. Are you loosing weight! You could be the BRIDE!
